To address the pressures associated with this positioning correction, JDM’s Pelvic Obliquity Cushions are layered with Visco elastic pressure- redistributing polyurethane.
To correctly measure a pelvic obliquity, seat the patient on a PT mat. With an assistant’s aid, place a yardstick level across the patient’s PSIS. At each end of the yardstick, measure the distance from the yardstick to the mat and advise JDM Medical. (Example Left = 3” Right =2”).
If the patient has a fixed obliquity (often caused by muscle or joint contractures), you will need to select a cushion that builds up the high side of the pelvis. This will allow for a more stable base of support. JDM recommends you use an Anti- Hammocking Fixed Obliquity cushion.
